Kim Yujin Appointed as President of Bangjinhoe
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Kim Yoo-jin, chairman of Hunid Technologies, was inaugurated as the chairman of the Korea Defense Industry Promotion Association (hereinafter referred to as KDIPA) on the 25th. KDIPA held its regular general meeting at the Air Force Hall in Daebang-dong, Seoul, and appointed Chairman Kim as the 17th chairman.
Kim Yoo-jin, the newly appointed chairman of KDIPA, has been serving as the chairman of Hunid Technologies, a defense company specializing in wireless communications and aviation business, since 2002.
In his inaugural speech, Chairman Kim Yoo-jin said, "The vision for the future of the Korean defense industry lies in strengthening the global competitiveness of the defense industry. We will strive to secure a national-level defense export strategy and build marketing capabilities that meet international standards." Regarding KDIPA's future plans, he presented three priorities: first, improving laws and systems to create a favorable environment for the domestic defense industry; second, improving management conditions for member companies; and third, strengthening the export competitiveness of defense companies.

Founded in 1976, KDIPA has developed into an association with 681 member companies, including Korea Aerospace Industries, Hanwha, Korean Air, LIG Nex1, and Hunid. It undertakes tasks such as policy proposals for the defense industry, guarantees, and support for overseas exports. At the general meeting, KDIPA reviewed and approved the 2020 business performance and financial statements, the 2021 business plan and budget, and the appointment of non-standing executives.
