Cyworld to Relaunch Simultaneously on PC and Mobile in May... Plan Changed
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] CyworldZ (Cyworld Z) announced on the 22nd that it has changed its original plan to revive Cyworld in March to May.
Earlier, the newly established company Cyworld Z paid 1 billion KRW to settle unpaid wages and acquired the service operation rights from Jeon Je-wan, CEO of Cyworld.
Cyworld Z stated, "We will change the initial plan of pre-releasing the web service to simultaneously releasing the mobile service."
Regarding the reason for the plan change, a Cyworld Z official explained, "According to existing traffic data, 5% of users accessed through the web service, and 95% accessed through the mobile service," adding, "We decided to launch both web and mobile simultaneously to ensure smooth access for users."
Cyworld Z is working with FXGear to restore the existing Cyworld service and develop the mobile version.
FXGear is a developer recognized for its technology in the global market through projects with companies such as DreamWorks in the United States. It is a company that develops mobile platforms and content applying augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
According to Cyworld Z, the newly introduced mobile version will feature two types of Minimi: the nostalgic "original analog Minimi" and the "2021 Minimi." Cyworld Z plans to implement digital Minimi using FXGear's technology.
