A Medium to Large-Scale Performance Venue to Open Near Seoul Forest
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] A medium-to-large performance hall will be built on a site near Seoul Forest. Originally planned to be located on the Acro Seoul Forest site in Special Planning Zone 3, the development plan has been partially adjusted to the adjacent Booyoung site.
On the 18th, Seoul City announced that at the 2nd Urban Architecture Joint Committee held the previous day, the detailed development plan for Special Planning Zones 3 and 4 in Seongsu-dong 1-ga, Seongdong-gu, was revised and approved.
Initially, the performance hall was planned to be built in Special Planning Zone 3, where Acro Seoul Forest is located. Special Planning Zone 4, where Booyoung planned two residential-commercial complex buildings and a large hotel, was scheduled to have a conference hall and industrial exhibition center to attract international convention functions.
However, as the exhibition facility originally planned for Zone 4 was created in Zone 3, the development plan was adjusted to build the performance hall in Zone 4. A Seoul City official said, "Originally, the performance hall in Zone 3 was limited to a small-scale venue of about 3,000㎡," adding, "With this adjustment, the area has expanded to over 5,000㎡, allowing for a medium-to-large performance hall with 500 to 1,000 seats."
