Guo Mingchi: "Apple to Apply Hyundai Electric Vehicle Platform to First Apple Car"
Apple Specialist Analyst, Recent Report Suggests "Likely to Collaborate Based on Hyundai Motor's E-GMP"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Apple is expected to collaborate with Hyundai Motor Group to launch its first electric vehicle, the 'Apple Car,' according to a report by AppleInsider on the 2nd (local time).
According to the report, Ming-Chi Kuo, a researcher at Taiwan Tianping International Securities, stated in a recent report that Apple's first Apple Car is expected to be based on Hyundai Motor Group's electric vehicle platform, 'E-GMP.' Ming-Chi Kuo is known as an Apple specialist analyst.
Ming-Chi Kuo also added that Hyundai Mobis will lead parts design and production, while Kia will be responsible for manufacturing in the United States, predicting that the Apple Car will be launched in 2025.
Ming-Chi Kuo noted that since electric vehicles have about 40 to 50 times more components than regular smartphones, Apple will inevitably have to rely on existing automakers for the launch of its first Apple Car.
