[Featured Stock] Korea BNC's Antroquinonol Confirmed as a Promising COVID-19 Treatment Candidate
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Korea BNC has been soaring for the second consecutive day.
As of 9:51 AM on the 2nd, Korea BNC was trading at 9,250 KRW, up 17.68% (1,390 KRW) compared to the previous trading day.
The rapid rise has continued after hitting the price limit the day before.
Korea BNC announced that researchers from the Chinese National Health Commission and the National University of Singapore confirmed that antroquinonol affects infection and immune evasion of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
They also added, "Antroquinonol was identified as a promising therapeutic candidate targeting DNAMi, which interacts with the COVID-19 protein ORF8 composed of 121 rapidly proliferating amino acids."
Korea BNC, which is developing a COVID-19 treatment drug with antroquinonol as the main ingredient, published a paper titled "East meets West in COVID-19 Therapeutics" in Elsevier's journal 'Pharmacological Research' in June last year through a Taiwanese original developer, Golden Biotech.

On January 20, Korea BNC announced that the DMC (Data Monitoring Committee) of the antroquinonol clinical trial, which is currently in Phase 2 and approved by the US FDA, reviewed and confirmed the safety and efficacy for 20 subjects and recommended continuation of the clinical trial.
