Seongbuk-gu Operates Cognitive and Emotional Counseling Center for Youth
Providing Specialized Counseling Services for Children and Adolescents Facing Cognitive, Emotional, and Learning Challenges... Contributing to Healthy Youth Development through Balanced Cognitive and Emotional Growth Support
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) will newly provide cognitive and emotional counseling services for children and adolescents in the area starting from February.
Through various counseling services conducted at the Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, the goal is to support the healthy growth of children and adolescents who experience cognitive and emotional difficulties compared to their peers.
This project is operated to ensure that children and adolescents with some learning and adaptation difficulties are not left in the blind spots of counseling services and can receive appropriate psychological support at the same time.
It also aims to help children and adolescents experiencing cognitive distortions learn rational thinking and beliefs to make positive behavioral decisions. In particular, it actively supports cognitive and emotional stimulation or psychological stability appropriate to their developmental stage and provides counseling services on various issues.
A district official stated, “We hope that through this newly launched specialized counseling service, children and adolescents in the area experiencing cognitive and emotional difficulties, regardless of their individual circumstances, will receive proper counseling services, and we expect that opportunities will gradually expand as a result.”
The Seongbuk Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, located on the 4th floor of the Seongbuk Children and Youth Center, is always open for youth.
