CJ Olive Young Enters Southeast Asian Online Shopping Platform Sophie
Official 'Olive Young Section' Opens on Shopee as Shop-in-Shop
Starting with Export and Sales of Own Brand to Promote K-Beauty
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] CJ Olive Young announced on the 5th that it will launch an official brand store called 'Olive Young Store' on Shopee, the largest online shopping platform in Southeast Asia.
CJ Olive Young will open the brand store in the form of a shop-in-shop within Shopee and start selling its own cosmetic brands. Starting with this, it plans to introduce excellent Korean cosmetics to local consumers who are highly interested in K-beauty.
Shopee is the largest online shopping platform in Southeast Asia, operating in seven Asian countries including Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Taiwan. It leads mobile-based services optimized for regional user characteristics, and as of last year, the cumulative number of app downloads exceeded 200 million.
The six Olive Young own brands that will first be sold in the Olive Young Store on Shopee are the color makeup brands WakeMake and Colorgram, the skincare brands Round Around and Botanic Heal Bo, Bring Green, and the beauty accessory brand Fillimilli. About 300 carefully selected products from these six cost-effective and well-reviewed own brands popular among overseas consumers have been chosen.
CJ Olive Young will operate the Olive Young Store in two countries where Shopee has entered: Indonesia and Malaysia. Since Indonesia and Malaysia have a high proportion of young generations interested in K-beauty and mobile shopping, the plan is to introduce Korean cosmetics and strengthen Olive Young's recognition as a representative K-beauty platform.
