Seoul City Implements Online Civil Service Issuance for Old Land Registers and Closed Cadastral Maps
Waiting Time Improved from 3 Hours to Under 3 Minutes
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Seoul City announced on the 3rd that starting from the 4th, it will begin offering an online civil service for issuing cadastral preservation documents such as old land and forest registers, or closed cadastral and forest maps, through each district office or community service center.
Until now, to obtain closed cadastral maps or forest maps, one had to visit the registered district office in person or request them only via the 'Anywhere Civil Service (FAX Civil Service)'. In particular, fax requests involved waiting times of up to three hours and low resolution, making it difficult to distinguish lot numbers or boundary lines.
To resolve these difficulties and prepare for damage or disasters affecting cadastral preservation documents, the city standardized the preservation documents of 25 districts early last year, integrated them into the Seoul Data Center server, and developed and distributed a program for civil service issuance. The stored documents amount to 5,034,000 sheets of land and forest registers and 38,123 sheets of closed cadastral and forest maps.
