On the 12th, Chuncheon District Court announced that it sentenced A (56), who was charged with attempted murder, special property damage, and special intimidation, to 2 years and 6 months in prison.
A, who runs a real estate consulting office, got into an argument with his junior B (53), who lives in the same neighborhood, over real estate sales issues last August. After being insulted, on the 29th of the same month, he went to the office operated by his junior and repeatedly struck the glass windows, entrance door, and a fan with a weapon.
The next day, when the junior visited A’s office to reconcile, A threatened him by brandishing a weapon, asking if he had come to mock him.
The following day, A stabbed his junior once in the abdomen with a weapon, saying he could no longer live in the same neighborhood after being ignored.
The court pointed out, "Considering the form of the weapon, the injury location and severity, and the possibility of death resulting from the act of attempted murder, the crime is serious."

It added, "The defendant had undergone psychiatric treatment for a considerable period and had received multiple psychiatric treatments for anxiety and obsessive-compulsive symptoms up until just before the crime, which appears to have been a factor leading to the offense. Taking into account that the victim does not wish to press charges, the sentence was determined accordingly," explaining the reasoning behind the sentencing.
