Korea Startup Forum Launches 'Legal Tech Industry Council'
Lim Young-ik, CEO of Intellicon, and Koo Tae-eon, CEO of Tech&Law, Elected as Co-Chairmen of the Joint Council
On the morning of the 9th, the launch ceremony was held online via video conference with the participation of about 30 people from the Korea Startup Forum Legal Tech Industry Council.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Korea Startup Forum (Chairpersons Kim Seul-ah, Ahn Sung-woo, Lee Seung-gun, hereinafter Kospo) announced on the 9th the launch of the Legal Tech Industry Council (hereinafter the Council) under its umbrella.
The Council includes 20 legal tech startups such as Intellicon, Tech & Law, Legal Tech, Amicus Rex, and Modusign, and elected Intellicon's CEO Lim Young-ik and Tech & Law's CEO Koo Tae-eon as co-chairpersons. The Council is composed of the Technology Division, External Public Relations Division, and Institutional Improvement Division.
The Council plans to make joint efforts to innovate the legal market and improve the accessibility and productivity of legal services, and to promote technological development and institutional improvement through active communication with stakeholders. In its launch declaration, the Council stated, "We will assist legal professionals, the main actors of legal services, and consumers of legal services to lead the digital transformation of the legal industry and to securely protect legal data."
Lim Young-ik, CEO of Intellicon and elected co-chairperson, said, "In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, convergence is important. Legal tech is a field where law and ICT technology converge and has already taken root in advanced countries. Academically, it is connected to fields such as computational law and legislative informatics, providing rich research themes. I hope that with the launch of the Council, many legal professionals will take an interest in legal tech and lead the future together."
