[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] The Student Education Center under the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 28th that it will operate the "Now It's LOL Time! Online Game School for Studying While Playing LOL" program remotely from November to December to support healing from game addiction and talent development.
This program is offered in the form of experiential training education for elementary, middle, and high school students in Seoul who are interested in the game LOL or want to overcome addiction and develop their talents. Previously, the Student Education Center's Online Dream Team operated the nation's first "eSports Online Training Activity" for 15 students of Junghwa Middle School in August. The program received a 96.7% satisfaction rate from participating students.
The Student Education Center emphasized that this program combines the LOL game with academic studies. The first session consists of learning the online game school's anthem and songs. The second session involves learning the backgrounds used in the game and English vocabulary related to the game. The third session includes listening to activities of game experts and discussing strategies applied while playing the game. The fourth session offers game writing, adventure play, and coaching counseling to help students learn self-control methods and develop diverse thinking skills.
The program, starting on the 9th of next month, will be offered in a total of six sessions. Each program consists of four sessions held twice a week, conducted from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM to allow participation after school hours.
