Sahmyook University, Professors Oh Hyejeon and Kim Sujin Piano Duo Recital on the 7th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The duo recital by Oh Hyejeon and Kim Sujin, professors of piano in the Department of Music at Samyuk University, will be held on the 7th of next month at Yeouido Yeongsan Art Hall in Seoul.
This performance is a follow-up to the "National Music School Special Concert" presented in 2018 by the professional ensemble "SYU Piano Society," composed of alumni from the Department of Music at Samyuk University. The concert features melodies and rhythms from various countries played on two pianos, themed around composers who sang of their nations, including Russia's Glinka and Borodin, Spain's Infante of Andalusia, Korea's Choi Eunjin, and Argentina's Piazzolla.

Especially notable is the world premiere of Choi Eunjin's "Tradition and D'eformation for Two Pianos," a piece commissioned by Professors Oh Hyejeon and Kim Sujin to suit the purpose of the performance, impressively blending folk melodies with contemporary music. Other works performed on the day also explore the fusion of each country's unique folk music with classical music. Seating is limited, and all seats are priced at 20,000 KRW. The concert will also be streamed live for free via the official Yeongsan Art Hall website and YouTube channel.
