AmorePacific Receives Green Certification for 'Ultra-High Pressure Ginseng Processing Technology'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Amorepacific Technical Research Institute has received the 'Green Technology Certification' and 'Green Technology Product Certification' for its ultra-high pressure ginseng processing technology (Cheonsamhwa) and products utilizing this technology.
In 2004, Amorepacific developed the Cheonsamhwa technology, which applies a high pressure of 6,000 atmospheres in a short time to extract the active ingredients of red ginseng. The Cheonsamhwa technology produces high-quality red ginseng and red ginseng concentrate with high content of functional components such as ginsenosides, and it has superior extraction efficiency compared to the conventional method of steaming and drying fresh ginseng (susam).
The red ginseng processing process is shortened, reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions by more than 10%, and it is eco-friendly as it effectively removes soil microorganisms remaining in ginseng without applying heat or adding chemicals.
Amorepacific Technical Research Institute has continuously improved the Cheonsamhwa technology and applied it to several products launched under the inner beauty solution brand Vitalbeauty. Ten products, including the red ginseng ampoule 'Myeongjaksu,' which allows easy consumption of red ginseng and ginseng berries (secondary ingredient), and 'Ginseng Berry Red Ginseng Extract,' which contains ginseng berries and red ginseng in one pack, also received the Green Technology Product Certification along with the Cheonsamhwa technology this time.
In particular, Myeongjaksu, launched in 2013, is a health functional food with red ginseng as the main ingredient. It has been recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for five functionalities: immune enhancement, fatigue improvement, blood flow through inhibition of platelet aggregation, memory improvement, and antioxidant effects.
