6-Vehicle Pileup on Honam Expressway...1 Dead, 2 Injured
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] A six-vehicle pileup occurred near Jeonju IC on the Honam Expressway northbound, resulting in one death and two injuries.
At around 12:10 PM on the 19th, a six-vehicle collision happened near Jeonju IC at the 6 km mark on the Honam Expressway northbound heading toward Cheonan, in Yongjeong-dong, Deokjin-gu, Jeonju City.
At the time of the accident, vehicles were moving slowly due to construction, and after a collision between a 1-ton truck and a passenger car, four more vehicles including a 25-ton truck collided consecutively.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the 25-ton truck, Mr. A (51), was transported to the hospital but passed away, and two other drivers were injured and are receiving treatment.
Additionally, the aftermath of the pileup caused traffic congestion in the area for about an hour.

The police are investigating the exact cause of the accident by questioning the vehicle drivers and others involved.
