The Jungnangcheon Embankment Path Transformed Dramatically by Night Lighting
Jungnang-gu Completes 'Jungnangcheon Riverside Lighting Improvement Project' Started in June Last Year... Renovation of 2.5km Embankment Trail Park Lights and Installation of Landscape Lighting
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) unveiled the section of the Jungnangcheon embankment walking trail from Jangpyeonggyo Bridge to Jungnanggyo Bridge, brightly illuminated with nighttime lighting, to the residents.
The Jungnangcheon embankment walking trail, which previously had inconvenient nighttime passage and safety concerns due to outdated lighting, has been transformed into a safe and pleasant space for nighttime walks following the completion of the "Jungnangcheon Riverside Lighting Improvement Project" that began in June last year.
The district invested 800 million KRW to replace the old lighting with LED lights along the 2.5 km section from Jangpyeonggyo Bridge to Jungnanggyo Bridge, installing various decorative lights such as the Rose Tunnel Sunshine Lighting, Rose Flowerbed Landscape Lighting, and Janganggyo Tree Lighting, offering a beautiful night view.
In particular, the Gyeomjaegyo Tunnel media lighting provides real-time information including tomorrow’s weather and fine dust concentration.
Additionally, the district created spots where residents can leave memories, such as a crescent moon-shaped photo zone illuminated by lights. This allows people to enjoy the embankment walking trail safely and comfortably regardless of day or night.
This is not the first effort to improve the environment of the Jungnangcheon embankment walking trail. Previously, the district promoted a rose street extension project in two phases, centered on the Jangpyeonggyo to Jungnanggyo embankment walking trail, planting about 720 trees and 36,000 rose bushes.
The district plans to continuously maintain the river and embankment spaces so that residents can exercise and enjoy festivals amidst beautiful nature.
