According to Jeju City health authorities on the 13th, six people including a woman in her 60s, Ms. A, ate flatfish sushi at a sashimi restaurant in Ildo 2-dong, Jeju City, around 7 p.m. on the 11th.
After the gathering ended, Ms. A and the other five reportedly began experiencing vomiting and diarrhea symptoms.
As the food poisoning symptoms persisted, they were transferred to a hospital in Jeju City for treatment.
The health authorities have advised the restaurant to suspend operations and are conducting an epidemiological investigation by collecting samples from utensils such as knives and cutting boards to identify the causative bacteria.
