Coupang Bucheon Logistics Center with 1,300 Employees Closed Due to Confirmed COVID-19 Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] The Coupang logistics center located in Bucheon, where three new COVID-19 cases were confirmed consecutively over two days, has ultimately closed. With about 1,300 employees working at the center, attention has focused on whether additional cases will emerge.
On the 26th, according to Coupang and Bucheon City, Coupang temporarily shut down the Bucheon logistics center located in Ojeong-dong, Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, the day before. Approximately 200 center employees classified as contacts have been placed under self-quarantine.
From the 24th to the 25th, three center employees were consecutively confirmed positive for COVID-19. Among the confirmed employees, two were known to have worked in the final packaging-related tasks in the product shipping department.
The closed logistics center is responsible for fresh food deliveries to the western metropolitan area.

Coupang stated, "Products scheduled for delivery from the Bucheon logistics center will be delivered to customers from nearby logistics centers such as Incheon with the same products," adding, "The Bucheon logistics center will remain closed until safety is confirmed, and disinfection work is underway. We plan to take all measures to ensure customers do not feel anxious."
