Gwangyang-si Provides Subsidies for Non-Commercial Electric Vehicle Slow Chargers
One Charger per Electric Vehicle Owner, Application Through Slow Charger Manufacturers and Sellers
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 20th, Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced that it will provide subsidies for the installation of non-public electric vehicle slow chargers.
The city secured a budget of 85 million KRW for the installation support project of non-public electric vehicle slow chargers to promote eco-friendly vehicle distribution, realize a low-carbon green city, and implement fine dust reduction measures.
Non-public chargers refer to facilities installed and managed privately by individuals for personal use. Wall-mounted and stand-type chargers will receive 1.3 million KRW in support, and metered portable chargers will receive 400,000 KRW, with a total of 65 units planned to be supported.
The eligibility criteria require applicants to be electric vehicle owners who have continuously held resident registration addresses in Gwangyang City since before January 1 of this year and have secured installation sites for chargers. Eligible applicants include Gwangyang citizens and corporations, organizations, and companies within the region.
Only one unit per applicant will be supported, and it must be used obligatorily for two years. Applicants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications can be submitted through 11 manufacturers or sellers of non-public slow chargers. Detailed information can be found in the announcement section of the Gwangyang City website.
