[Breaking News] 420 Residents Evacuated Due to Wildfire Spread in Goseong, Gangwon
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] At around 8:04 PM on the 1st, a fire that broke out in a house in Dowon-ri, Toseong-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do, spread to a nearby mountain area driven by strong winds.
Firefighting and forestry authorities have deployed 225 fire trucks and 606 personnel to extinguish the fire, but strong winds are making firefighting efforts difficult.
The Fire Agency reported that currently, 420 residents from a total of 271 households in Hakya 1-ri, Hakya 2-ri, Dowon 1-ri, and Dowon 2-ri have evacuated to the gymnasium of Cheonjin Elementary School and other locations.

Additionally, as the flames spread toward Hakya-ri near Dowon-ri, nearby residents have been urged to evacuate.
