[Exclusive] Singer Park Jimin Changes Stage Name to Jamie "Thank You for Remembering Park Jimin for 8 Years"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Singer Park Ji-min announced a new beginning by changing her stage name to Jamie.
On the 21st, Jamie posted on her Instagram, "I have joined my new family, Warner Music Korea. Thank you to everyone who has remembered and supported me under the name Park Ji-min for the past eight years."
She added, "I am going to start anew under the name Jamie. More sincere music and stories I wanted to share?please continue to support me as Jamie."
On the same day, the global record label Warner Music Korea also announced the exclusive contract signing with Jamie.
Warner Music Korea stated, "We have signed an exclusive contract with singer 'Jamie.' We highly value Jamie's infinite potential and musical capabilities fueled by her passionate spirit, and we plan to provide wholehearted support so that Jamie can actively promote herself as a solo artist."
Jamie will use the English name she has used since childhood as her stage name and will begin activities as a solo singer.
Meanwhile, Jamie is the winner of SBS audition program 'K-pop Star' Season 1 and officially debuted in the music industry in 2012 as part of Fifteen& (15&). Since then, she has gained recognition by releasing songs such as "I Dream," "Somebody," "Tiga Nana Bwa," and "Sugar."
In 2015, she released her first solo single "Hopeless Love," followed by "19 to 20," "jimin x jamie," and "Stay Beautiful."
