Military: "Two Shincheonji Church Members Confirmed with COVID-19 at Nonsan Training Center to Be Sent Home"
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Military authorities announced on the 18th that they plan to send home 2 new recruits at Nonsan Army Training Center who tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to the Army, two recruits who were identified as Shincheonji members residing in the Daegu area during the enlistment process at the Army Training Center and were under preventive quarantine tested positive in the PCR test results released on the 17th.
The Army stated, "The 38 contacts who were in the same quarantine space as the two confirmed cases from the previous day underwent PCR testing in separate single rooms, and all tested negative."
The two confirmed cases are known to have enlisted together with a person residing in Changwon, Gyeongnam, who was previously confirmed positive. The military explained that PCR tests were conducted while under preventive quarantine, considering epidemiological links.
