[4·15 General Election] Lee Hyung-seok, Elected Representative of Gwangju Buk-gu Eul, Emphasizes "Humility and Modesty"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Lee Hyung-seok, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate, was elected in the Gwangju Metropolitan City Buk-gu Eul electoral district in the 21st National Assembly election.
Choi Kyung-hwan, who challenged for re-election, along with candidates Hwang Soon-young, Yoon Min-ho, Lee Jae-wook, Kang Hwi-jung, Noh Nam-soo, and Kim Won-gap, promised to try again next time.
Lee Hyung-seok said, "I will engrave the will chosen by the citizens of Gwangju in my heart and surely repay it with 'a new Buk-gu, a new Gwangju, and new politics,'" adding, "I will become a National Assembly member who breathes and communicates with the citizens of Gwangju, gain the trust of the people, and create a working National Assembly."
He also stated, "Together with the Moon Jae-in administration, I will achieve permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula, balanced national development through local decentralization, and revive the livelihood economy that has been difficult due to COVID-19," promising, "I will work with businesses, workers, the government, and civil society to create an inclusive welfare state where innovative growth and a fair economy harmonize."
He emphasized, "I will support the stable governance of the Moon Jae-in administration in its second half and definitely achieve the re-creation of the administration in 2022," adding, "I will always be with the citizens of Gwangju with humility and a low profile, never losing my original intention."
