Annual 100,000 Won Worth Points Provided to 1st Year Middle School Students... Usable Like Cash at Cultural Space Venues
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) operates the ‘Youth Support Card’ project to provide opportunities for young people to realize their dreams and hopes.
The Youth Support Card is a project that supports youth to participate in various activities such as culture, arts, and career experiences in line with the ‘Free Semester System’.
The support targets approximately 4,200 first-year middle school students and 13-year-old youths (born in 2007) residing in Gangseo-gu, providing points worth 100,000 KRW annually (50,000 KRW each in the first and second half of the year).
Eligible students can visit the Youth Dream-IN Career Experience Card portal site (https://gs.purmee.kr) to check information on online and offline affiliated stores inside and outside the region and card usage methods, and use the points like cash at their desired locations.
Card applications can be made at the nearest community service center, and once the card is issued and personal authentication is registered, it can be used immediately.
To facilitate smooth use of the Youth Support Card, the district has additionally secured 7 cultural spaces such as table tennis halls this year, making it usable at 82 locations currently.
Along with this, to broaden students’ understanding of the project’s purpose and promote proper use of the Youth Support Card, project brochures and posters were distributed through each school.
