"20s Pretending to Be a COVID-19 Patient on Subway to Get Famous on YouTube, Police Booked"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seong-yeol] A man in his 20s who caused a commotion on the Busan Metro by claiming he was infected with the novel coronavirus (Wuhan pneumonia) to upload a video on YouTube has been apprehended by the police.
Busan Bukbu Police Station announced on the 6th that Mr. A was booked without detention on charges including obstruction of business.
Mr. A is accused of causing a disturbance and spreading false information by shouting, "I came from Wuhan, China. It’s pneumonia. Everyone stay away from me," inside a train heading from Namsanjeong Station to Sookdeung Station on Busan Metro Line 3 around 4:30 p.m. on the 30th of last month, pretending to be infected with Wuhan pneumonia.
He recorded this and uploaded the video to YouTube, and as the video spread online, the police began tracking him down.
When the police started their investigation, Mr. A voluntarily appeared at the police station that afternoon and reportedly admitted to the charges.
