Mokpo Hanguk Hospital opened in May 1988 and currently has 20 departments, over 60 specialists, and a capacity of 600 beds. It also operates the regional emergency medical center, regional trauma center, doctor helicopter service, and national health screening center, which are representative national projects of Jeollanam-do in the southwestern region.
